Radiohead “The King of Limbs” (2011)

August 13, 2011

I cannot write this review without using the word “disappointment”. Is it true that after making such beautiful records like In Rainbows or Kid A Radiohead may come up with something like this? The answer is: yes, obviously. We all knew that this day was coming – Radiohead no longer being exciting. First of all, The King of Limbs feels short (only 8 tracks). Secondly, it’s closer to Thom Yorke’s solo work than actually Radiohead. Which is bad. The electronic beats become wearing when you get to the third track and you get the impression that the album is lost until Codex turns up. It’s a marvellous ballad, clearly the highlight of the band’s eighth studio album. Another good song is Separator. But then you realise that it’s already over and you have to wait another 3 or 4 years.

hydrameter: 2/5
